This season, matches will be held at four venues instead of two. The other two venues are Bangalore and Lucknow. There will be only five teams in the tournament and each team will play 2-2 matches against every other team. Thus, a team will play eight games. There will be a total of 22 matches in the event.

The Women’s Premier League will have 20 league-stage matches from February 14 to March 11. There will be no play on February 20 and 23 as well as on March 2, 4, 5, and 9. One match per day will start at 7.30 pm on the other days. Thus, no two matches will be played on the same day. During the playoffs, there will be no play on March 12 and 14.

Ekana And Kotambi Stadium Is Ready For Battle

For the first time, WPL matches will be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

International and IPL matches have been held at the Ekana Stadium. In contrast, the Kotambi Stadium was inaugurated last month with the ODI series between India and West Indies women.

Knockout matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy are also being played at Kotambi. Floodlights were tested during the two day-night semi-final matches played here.

Six WPL matches will also be played with floodlights. The home team Gujarat Giants will play three matches here.
